 Florida A&M tennis defeats the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 4-1 to advance to their second straight Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship. 
The Rattlers started hot, winning the doubles point. Sara Rakim and Genesis Whitelock won the first doubles match 6-2, and Sierra Sandy and Larissa Silva won 7-5 to give the Rattlers an early 1-0 lead.    

     Congratulations to the J.P. Taravella track and field team on their impressive win at the South Plantation High School meet! It’s great to see both the boys and girls teams taking first place and having numerous individual standout performances. The team’s success is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

More than 60 years after their historic championship victories, the Tennessee A&I Tigers, the first HBCU team to claim a national basketball title, were finally honored at the White House.

  Not too long ago, the Westside Gazette reported on the journey of one Gwen “Gi Gi” Thomas, a Miami Northwestern senior who excelled as a student-athlete academically and athletically, maintaining an overall 4.3 g.p.a. while competing on the most challenging stage as a gymnast. With the unwavering support of family and friends, Gi Gi , as previously noted, performed with great aplomb at the state of Florida gymnastics meet! This was an amazing feat, particularly in light of returning from a devastating knee injury ( ACL/Meniscus ) that threatened her gymnastics career.

     The former Florida State running back, who transferred to Florida A&M, has re-entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

In conjunction with the opening events for the new exhibit, “More Than Brave: The Life of Henry Aaron,” at the Atlanta History Center, Hall of Fame Chairman of the Board Jane Forbes Clark announced plans to unveil a bronze statue of Aaron at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on May 23.
