     Atlanta won the toss and deferred, giving the Dolphins the first offensive series. Mixing the run and pass proved effective early; however, after completing 3 passes for 36 yards, starting quarterback Mike White’s pass was intercepted by Atlanta. The first quarter  ended in a scoreless tie. The time of possession was relatively equal, the Dolphins possessing the ball for 7:23 and the Falcons for 7:37.

     The Florida Memorial Competitive Cheer team made program history, earning first place in both the Rally Routine and the 45 Second Crowd Segment at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Camp in Daytona Beach. The team also won best overall in the small co-ed intermediate division.

     While the Washington Commanders overall roster is more than 60 percent Black, Danny Johnson, Trent Scott and rookie Joshua Pryor are the lone HBCU reps.

     The Las Vegas Raiders have partnered with ex-Raiders player and NFL Hall of Famer Charles Woodson, who founded the award-winning spirits brand Woodson Bourbon Whiskey. The former Raiders defensive player announced a partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders and Allegiant Stadium, marking the first time in Raider and NFL history a former professional player’s company has been named the official spirits sponsor of an NFL franchise.

     Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues, a Baltimore native, was born in 1965 and lived most of his life in the Lafayette public housing projects. Bogues immediately fell in love with basketball, using an open-bottomed milk crate hanging off a fence to practice slam dunks. Bogues dreamed of being a star, but one of his biggest hurdles showed up early in his life as his height capped at 5 foot, three inches. This didn’t deter Bogus from his dreams, as he spent most of his time at the local recreation center honing his skills during his childhood and teenage years.
