     There’s no shortage of content about HBCUs these days. You’ll find documentaries, media coverage, social media moments, and, yes, even books about the subject. But what really pushed me to write HBCU Sports 101: A Guide to Understanding Black College Athletics was the realization that so many of those narratives aren’t being told by people who actually lived the HBCU experience.

           The greens of Jacaranda Golf Course came alive on Saturday, June 14th, not just with the thrill of competition, but with a profound sense of purpose. The inaugural “Little Show on the Road” golf tournament wasn’t just a day of fun, food, and fellowship; it was a powerful statement of support for the SCAR Program’s vital work with at-risk youth and young adults.

        Amber Fullwood, a standout in the storied history of Florida A&M University softball, is receiving a major league honor from her hometown team. The Tampa Bay Rays will celebrate Fullwood on August 22 during their “FAMU Night with the Rays” game, where she will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
