Mural Group

Well, here is your chance. URGENT, Inc. is putting on a Community Paint-a-Thon for its Murals for Dorsey Park Project. The project wants to bring people together to help transform Dorsey Park into a historic and cultural destination within the City of Miami commemorating it as the home of Negro League Baseball in South Florida.

   

The Community Paint-a-Thon will be held:

 

Date: Friday March 22, 2013

Time: 8:30 am to 3:30pm

Location: Dorsey Park

Address: 1701 NW 1st Ave, Miami, FL33136

Registration: $25  

 

 

This will be the first fundraiser for our Murals for Dorsey Park Project, a Knight Foundation Arts Challenge winner.

 

If you would like to participate you can register now. You can sign-up as a team or be assigned a team upon arrival at the event. This Fund-raiser is an opportunity to volunteer with your family, friends, colleagues, civic group or other community group. But most of all this is an opportunity for us to come together to transform our community using our collective skills and assets!

 

Each team member must register to participate.

 

*High school youth who participate will be awarded community service hours upon request.

 

We also are asking local artist to serve as Mentoring Artist and supervise a small group of novice painters for the day. If you would like to serve, please sign-up  here!
