The 22nd Annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival (GJJF) is set to spice up Miramar Regional Park with the biggest Caribbean feast of the year on November 10, 2024. Alongside signature sizzling jerk delights and mouthwatering Caribbean flavors, the festival will bring an electrifying mix of reggae and dancehall entertainment for a day to remember.

“Chilly took a bullet for me,” Chavis, the President, and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA), somberly recalled as he stood outside at Evergreen Church Cemetery in Columbus County, North Carolina, where his friend Patrick was laid to rest on December 26, 2020.
According to organizers, the gallery was created to preserve this moment in time and help keep the movement alive and ensure future generations have access to the art and artists who are acting as vanguards of change.
“I don’t like to have conversations just to sugarcoat people and say, ‘Yeah, we can get a Raising Cane’s,’” Nguyen said of a popular chicken chain. “You know very well that people here like those chickens, those fried chicken … you can’t ask people to start up a business and not be able to make money.”

“Conversation Peace” is designed to illuminate the historical and current relationship between African Americans and Jews and spur spirited discussion and dialogue among student guests. The “Conversation Peace” HBCU tour is a presentation of the Philos Project, a national organization part of whose vision and objective is to reach young people—notably future Black thought-leaders—to stronger alliances and foster a better understanding of Israel and geo-political issues.
