As the population of Broward County, Florida continues to remain one of the fastest-growing in the country, proper development for the area’s youth is more important than ever. Recent data from the National School Boards Association indicates that 45% of Black students nationwide attend high-poverty schools, compared with just 8% of white students. Leading efforts to provide a supportive, faith-based environment for Black girls within South Florida is God’s Gift, Inc., a nonprofit with a mission to help students of color achieve their dreams.
