NNPA would not be complete without an article about five persons whom I hold in high esteem, five persons from whom I have learned about sacrifice, commitment, dedication, honor, and character; and five persons who hold a special place in most if not all of our hearts and minds. They are Marcus, Medgar, Malcolm, Martin, and Maynard. No last names necessary, right?
We have knowledge but fail to act appropriately with the knowledge we have and, therefore, end up paying dearly for not doing better even though we know better.
But, there is another take on crime that we often overlook or simply ignore; it’s the economic crimes we commit against ourselves.
Black folks would be well on our way to a higher level of economic self-sufficiency.
Black folks are mired in the worst conditions since we got our “civil rights.”
