     Pompano Beach Arts is pleased to present two compelling exhibitions at Ali Cultural Arts Center. Featuring the bold artwork of, respectively, Willandra Dawes-McGahee and Nathan “Nate Dee” Delinois, both shows open on Friday, February 17, 2023, and run through May 11. The opening reception for Dawes-McGahee’s exhibit Therapy for the Art: The Evolution will be held before the Live and Local Concert featuring local gospel singer Lady Delbert Mohorn and friends on February 17, with a second event following on February 26, which will be a brunch featuring live painting by the artist. There will be a meet and greet artist reception for Delinois’ exhibition objet couronne which will take place before the Live and Local Concert featuring jazz artist Dr. Julie Silvera on Friday, March 17.      Pompano Beach Arts is proud to present the inspiring new Fifth Sundays Gospel series at Ali Cultural Arts Center. Produced and presented by Pompano Beach native Pastor George Rich, the well-known and much-respected spiritual leader of Pompano’s P3 Church will be showcasing some of the best Gospel performers in South Florida. The series, which will be held on months with five Sundays, launches October 30, 2022, with The South Florida Gospel Singers, Earth Angels, and Zion Sons. Pompano Beach Arts is proud to announce the City’s inaugural Jazz Fest, featuring a dynamic lineup of music icons. The star-studded festival kicks off at The Great Lawn along the beach for an evening concert with ten-time Grammy® Award-winner Arturo Sandoval on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 8 pm. Day two is an immersive musical extravaganza at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. During the afternoon, the center’s ArtsPlaza will be filled with the sounds of legendary artists including Sammy Figueroa, Bryan Lynch, Magela Herrera, Ashley Pezzotti, in addition to emerging and student artists under the direction of Grammy Award-winning professor Dr. Ed Calle. In the evening, Grammy® and Tony® Award-winner, singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, takes the stage inside the center’s theater.  Jazz Fest Pompano Beach is a partnership with KCC Productions, a well-known concert and festival production company.      The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Felix had joined the Hear Her campaign to share her story and raise awareness about urgent warning signs that could indicate life-threatening complications during and in the year after pregnancy.      Because of her bold and tireless work, Felix received the 2021 National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) National Leadership Award for excellence and innovative leadership in Black America.

Pompano Beach Arts is proud to announce that television icon Malcolm-Jamal Warner is joining the fourth annual Exit 36 Slam Poetry Festival as a celebrity judge. The famed star of The Cosby Show and current hit The Resident will also be performing his poetry at the festival and sharing thoughts about his career during an Artist Talk. The three-day event attracts the premier spoken word artists in the country and will take place December 9-11, 2021, at the City’s cultural venues.
