Virginia Union, after drubbing Bluefield State 70-14, remains atop the CIAA . And for the first time in 9 years, rising Johnson C. Smith remained in contention for a slot in the SIAC conference championship by virtue of its hard fought, well earned victory over Fayetteville State 17-14. Kentucky State, having resurrected its program, is enjoying a banner season after a weekend victory over Clark-Atlanta 43-28. Each of the aforementioned teams has an 8-1 record except Kentucky State at 7-2.
