Type 2 diabetes is one of the most common chronic conditions we see in older adults—and one of the most manageable when addressed early. For seniors, especially those in Hispanic and African American communities, the risks can be greater and the complications more serious. At Conviva, we know that awareness and screenings coupled with daily support make all the difference in helping patients live longer, healthier lives.

On March 17, the Broward Elks Lodge #652 won a jury verdict of fraud against Sator Investments, LLC, and conspiracy to commit fraud against by Kevin Eutsey and Sator Investments, LLC, after over seven years of fighting in Broward County Courts. The decision also quieted the deed title which returned the entire property at 712  North West 2nd Street back to Elks Lodge #652. However, during the trial a deal had been structured in the hallways by Sator’s lender HIF IV, Elks Lodge #652 attorney and the Elks Grand Exalted Ruler of the Grand Lodge, IBPOEW, to liquidate the local Elks property on 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, with a payoff of $1.85 million, and attorney fees.

Now you see it, now you don’t. Like a cheap magic frick, justice can disappear in a flash, through loopholes, slick tricks, skill maneuvering and cleaver tactics. So, you can win a jury decision for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud, and still get your property in foreclosure. Add to which, a judge can decide that you get no compensation for your property being used by the crooks who fraudulently held it for 8 years while your case wound its way through a labyrinth court system.

A close but crucial victory over Savannah State- 18-15 – by Albany State keeps the Rams number one in HBCU Division II football, the SIAC and in prime position for a run at the championship. Virginia Union, after drubbing Bluefield State 70-14, remains atop the CIAA . And for the first time in 9 years, rising Johnson C.     The MEAC – Mid Eastern Athletic Conference – despite the minuscule membership, is a competitive, powerhouse entity seeking to maintain and achieve greater status and relevance. You recall a few years ago, FAMU and BCU deserting the MEAC for supposed greener pastures with the SWAC, the other major FCS/HBCU conference. The MEAC champion has held its own, exceeding expectations during the Deion Sanders era at Jackson State, which lost consecutive Celebration Bowl games to South Carolina State and North Carolina Central. MEAC conference play has begun in earnest and will be on full display in November.
