     Though largely viewed as a formality, the many challenges and the outrageous – almost treasonous – behavior displayed by Trump, his supporters, and a large swath of Republican officials made this year’s Electoral College College gathering more eventful, if not uncertain.

     Tallahassee historians are trying to save what used to be a late 1800s African American schoolhouse that still stands on private property — and according to local government records, it’s one of six remaining in Florida.  The Leon County Commission voted unanimously, with Commissioner Bill Proctor out of chambers, to add the Lake Hall School building to the Local Register of Historic Places.

14-year old Gabby Goodwin now has a headquarters for her business, thanks to her parents, Comedian Mike Goodwin and Rozalynn Goodwin. The successful teen entrepreneur, who is the CEO of Confidence, is looking forward to fulfilling orders for her patented GaBBY Bows and girls’ plant-based natural hair products, as well as hosting entrepreneurship and beauty workshops there. The first commercial property investment for the Goodwin family also has retail space, a salon and office space for MTG Comedy.

President-elect Joe Biden announced key nominations and appointments of his health team, including Xavier Becerra, Secretary of Health and Human Services; Dr. Vivek Murthy, Surgeon General; Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, COVID-19 Equity Task Force Chair; Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Adviser to the President on COVID-19, who will also continue in his role as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; and Jeff Zients, Coordinator of the COVID-19 Response and Counselor to the President. In addition, former White House and Pentagon senior Advisor Natalie Quillian will serve as Deputy Coordinator of the COVID-19 Response.

       A ‘family caregiver’ is defined as an adult age 18 or older who is providing unpaid short-term or long-term care to a parent, spouse, friend or other adult loved one who needs help with everyday activities and personal tasks such as transportation, managing finances, scheduling appointments, shopping, bathing, dressing, preparing meals, wound care and/or medication management.
