Between 2013 and 2019, police in the United States killed 7,666 people according to data provided by Mapping Police Violence, a research and advocacy group.     âI was horrified,â Garza said of viewing the video of Floydâs life being taken by a white police officer with his knee on Floydâs neck. âEvery time a Black person is murdered by police there is something disturbing about it.â She added, said in this case, âjust the callousness of it; and him calling for his mother. There is just so much in there that is horrifying. Itâs just a brutal reminder of how Black lives donât matter in this country.â
âWhen I think about George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black people murdered by racial hatred, I could not help but think about my son, Ennis, who was also brutally murdered,â stated Cosby, who is serving a three-to-ten-year prison term after his 2018 conviction on charges of indecent aggravated assault.Â
