      Our treatment of animals is a national embarrassment. In particular, factory farms are hellish places, where creatures without room to turn around cannibalize each other in their own excrement. The richest, most powerful country in the world can do better.

“Hope Marches On” this holiday season! The Salvation Army of Broward County is seeking South Florida residents with a positive outlook and an affinity for philanthropy and fun to apply for seasonal bell ringer positions during the nonprofit organization’s three job fairs on Tuesday, October 12, from 10 a.m. – noon, Wednesday, October 13, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and Thursday, October 28, from 10 a.m. – noon. The job fairs will take place at the Salvation Army’s headquarters at 100 SW 9th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Approximately 125 paid positions need to be filled.
