The rate of college-aged students leaving the Black church is slower than the general public, however, the decline remains significant. As Pew Research Center notes 49% of Black millennials and 46% of Black Gen-Zers reported that they “rarely” or “never” attend religious services.  

In a move that attorneys for an Orlando abortion clinic argued might force it into “bankruptcy or closure,” state health regulators this week ordered the clinic to pay a $193,000 fine for violating a law that requires women to wait 24 hours before having abortions.

     “I don’t think this is like his last opportunity,” Jewett said. “But it might be sort of his last best opportunity to really change the tone of his campaign and be viewed more as the number one challenger to (former President Donald) Trump, as opposed to the guy that’s sinking in the polls.”

     Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. While women typically won’t develop breast cancer until the latter stages of life, some patients under 45 years old show signs of breast cancer. Even teenagers can develop breast cancer symptoms, but how common is this?

     Several countries around the world have reported the worst fires in decades. Wildfires have firefighters battling fires which they cannot control, and many families are forced to evacuate their neighborhoods with no solution in sight. 2023 is one of the hottest years on record and climate change is impacting the weather.

     Besides having difficulty wrapping my head around how much money was spent – and how much was lost – in a cause many reputable political scientists have characterized as “American Adventurism in Afghanistan,” I became angry at the members of Congress who refuse to spend any tax dollars at all to help African Americans in our own country recover from the damage caused by centuries of slavery, racial abuse, and intentional neglect.
