97 year old Dr. Joseph Patterson, of Cooper City, FL, succumbed peacefully at his home of natural causes on August 1, 2021.

97 year old Dr. Joseph Patterson, of Cooper City, FL, succumbed peacefully at his home of natural causes on August 1, 2021.

Dr. Patterson was Professor Emeritus at Florida International University, Department of Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, College of Public Health & Social Work. Prior, as Director and Professor of the Department of Health Services Administration, School of Public Health Affairs and Services, he was instrumental in establishing a Master degree program in Public Health.

     He was married 50 years to the late Mrs. Juanita Simmons Patterson, who surrendered her life back to her Creator, November 11, 2001.

     Dr. Patterson is survived by his daughters, Josetta Patterson, and Jacquelyn Patterson (Cleveland, OH); granddaughter, Jasmin Anderson (Cleveland, OH); nieces, Quo Vadis Ellison, Judy Greer, Caroline Greer (Ronnie, deceased); Miriam Bohles; Jeffrey Bowles (Donna); all of Cleveland, Ohio; Rochelle Kirby (Randall) (Columbus, OH); and a host of loving relatives and friends.

     A Memorial Tribute will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, 11:00 A.M., at Range Funeral Home located at 5727 NW 17th Ave, Miami, FL 33142. The Viewing will be Friday, August 13, 2021, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Range Funeral Home. Due to the COVID19 CDC guidelines, face masks must be worn at all times, along with the social distance adherence.
