As strange as it may seem, the Republican Party seems to have ingested the allegorical substance of the biblical Book of Revelation and are willing to subject America’s democracy to an apocalypse if necessary to gain complete dominance. One of the Founding Fathers’ greatest fears of democracy was that its people and governmental officials could become corrupted, oppressive, and capable of engineering democracy’s apocalypse.
What the Republican Party is aggressively plotting shouldn’t come as a surprise. Once they realized that their chances of ever again winning another national election and insurrections are incapable of overthrowing the government, they embarked on a cynical and undemocratic, and evil mission to seize power.
Republicans’ ongoing mission is just as dangerous to our democracy as the seven seals in the Book of Re-velation are to humankind. Though reprehensible, their seven seals of evil legislative actions to seize power include the following: 1) suppressing voters’ rights; 2) gerrymandering; 3) at-tempting to reinstall an illegitimate president; 4) spreading misinformation/lies; 5) attacking the press; 6) refusing to support the Jan. 6 Select Committee; and 7) disavowing their Constitutional Oaths.
The ultimate question now facing America’s government is, “How to avert Republicans’ attempt to gain total control of America’s government and thereby prevent a “Democracy Apocalypse?”
Well, the Founding Fathers in their infinite wisdom pro-vided this Nation with an indelible blueprint to follow. It’s called the “separation of powers.” The survival of our democracy is dependent on a divided government The Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary must utilize their own rules, responsibilities, and powers to maintain and sustain itself. Yet, they must operate as a National government, while respecting states’ rights.
Unfortunately, the Founding Fathers, even though they provided a blueprint for protecting democracy, they weren’t able to contemplate that democracy greatest threat would be its governmental official’s lack of Integrity.
