BA.5 Subvariant
The BA.5 subvariant is threatening a new wave of infections across the US, even among those who have recently recovered from an infection. Scientists believe that BA.5 is capable of evading immunity from previous infections and vaccinations.
New coronavirus cases continue to rise across the US.
The daily average number of cases is now 128,000, a 19% rise over the last two weeks.
New coronavirus cases continue to rise in Florida. The state reports an average of 11,000 new cases per day, a 12% increase over the last two weeks.
Deaths from COVID-19 have risen 44% in the state, over the last two weeks.

Monkeypox – The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Monkeypox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). Cases of the disease continue to rise rapidly across the globe and in the US.

Broward County is the epicenter of the Monkeypox outbreak in Florida.
Monkeypox is an infectious disease that causes pox-like vesicles on the face, hands, and other parts of the body. The disease is spread by direct physical contact with someone who is infected with the disease. Anyone is at risk for Monkeypox.
