Laurence Humphries currently is President & CEO of the Wellness Development Group which focuses on franchise development of Med Spas in the Greater Houston Area under the Brand of Vio Med Spas.
Mr. Humphries recently retired from 22 years of executive level experience from Chevron Corporation. During those 22 years he served and led in a variety of domestic and international roles in Corporate Strategy, Downstream, LNG and E&P in Strategy & Planning. He is an experienced strategist that has worked and solved complex problems in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Specifically, he has developed plans for new technology, conducted market research for commercial opportunities in Latin America & Africa, modelled probabilistic prices forecasts for petroleum products, developed processes to determine global market attractiveness, investment opportunities, allocation of capital and change management activities across 24 countries in South America, Africa and the Middle East.
Mr. Humphries is a Hands-on leader; expert at improving processes, formulating innovative solutions, identifying business opportunities, and generating margin enhancement and cost-savings toward the productivity and attainment of organizational objectives
He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors, Florida A&M University Foundation, Inc. where he is Vice-Chair of the Development Committee and also sits on the Finance and Board Governance Committee, and a Member Board of Directors & Treasurer at Silence the Shame, Inc. since 2023, supporting causes that are close to my heart such as mental health and aligned with my values of justice, fairness, and wellness.
Mr. Humphries has also served as an Obama Administration Political Appointee on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee for Energy & Energy Services at the Department of Commerce and the US Trade Representative office from 2011 – 2014.
Mr. Humphries earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Morehouse College in 1993 and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Clark Atlanta University in 2000.
Mr. Humphries is married to Carnesha Allen Humphries and is the proud father of four children Laurence A. Humphries, II, Dylan Gabrielle Humphries, Isabella Antoinette Humphries and Pierce Henry Humphries.
