    Bible Trivia

Everyone’s attention is on the 2024 Olympics. From T.V. to the internet our conversation is ‘ how many Gold Medals will Simone Biles or Noah Lyles win. Apostle Paul often compared the Christian Life to the Greek Athletic analogies.

Let’s look at some of the Biblical athletic analogies.

    1) 1st Corinthians 9:25 – Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training…..

    2) Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood….

    3) 1st Timothy 4:7 – But refuse profane and old wives fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

    4) 1st Corinthians 9:24 – Know you not that they which run in a race run all……..

    5) 1st Corinthians 9:26 – I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so I fight……

    6) Ezekiel 47:5 – Afterward he measured a thousand and it was a river..for the waters were risen, waters to swim in…

    7) Hebrews 12:1 – Let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Traditional Greek athletic training program was a four-day cycle called the tetrad. An Ancient Greek athlete following a tetrad program would focus on a different type and intensity of training on each day of the cycle.
