    Local resident Edwin C. Adams succumbs

    On July 22, 2013, Edwin C. Adams, fondly known as Buster, 95, passed away at the Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Adams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of New York, N.Y., passed away Monday, July 22, 2013. He was born June 7, 1918 in New York, N.Y., a son of the late Neville and Helen Adams.

    He was survived by three daughters: Pamela Adams of Fort Lauderdale Fla., Michele Bolden and her husband Curtis Bolden of Savannah, Ga., Charlene Tiffany Adams and one son Charles Edwin Adams of Dallas, Tex.

    He is also survived by grandchildren Curtis Charles Bolden, Ahjae Edwards, Eric Thompson and Jayden Thompson and great-grandson Curtis Charles Bolden, Jr. and several cousins.

    Adams served in the United States Army during WWII and worked as an entrepreneur owning the Red Rooster in Harlem, New York prior to his retirement.

    The memorial service is planned for Saturday at 2 p.m., July 27, 2013 at Roy Mizell and Kurtz Funeral Home, 1305 N.W. Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piney Grove Boys Academy, 4699 W. Oakland Park Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
