AMAC comes to Greater Fort Lauderdale

In honor of its 31st annual Business Diversity Conference, The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) landed in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. The conference held from June 12 to 16th welcomed the airport and aviation industry, South Florida businesses, and corporations plus businesses from around the globe. The conference advocated for “Business Beyond the Beach: ELEVATING Global Business Opportunity”.
The Urban League of Fort Lauderdale welcomed AMAC members and South Florida business owners to a special opening ceremony with National Urban League CEO and President Marc Morial.
CEO Marc Morial congratulated the businesses’ owners for taking a leap in developing their own business and helping create job opportunities’.
Morial said, “America forgets that if each or one of every three small business in American created a single job, an additional job, today we would be at full employment in the U.S.”
AMAC members additionally joined Broward County’s Economic and Small Business Development and helped beautify Broward Partnership’s playground.
“We are doing a little landscaping, planting tress and mulch, a little beautification project,” states an employee of Broward County’s Economic and Small Business Development.
Broward Partnership, a local Homeless Assistance Center, has contributed to housing more than 21,000 individuals. The center campaigns for health, jobs and homes for the homeless.
Throughout the five-day conference, program members were able to attend business matchmaking activities, workshops such as “ 11 steps to Exporting-A Roadmap to Your Exporting Success!” and “Emerging Markets: 3 Continents Series (Africa, Asia, and South America).”
