    Dear Friend,

As the entire world continues to feel the  impacts of the novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), here at home, we are also witnessing the incredible bravery of Florida’s frontline workers – including healthcare workers, first responders, farmers and food industry workers, grocery staff, delivery and postal workers, and other essential employees. I am awe-inspired by these workers’ daily acts of heroism and will continue fighting in Congress to address the urgent needs of all workers, including those who are unemployed, families, and small businesses in Florida.

Today, the House of Representatives is preparing to pass an agreement on an interim emergency funding package that will provide the emergency resources desperately needed to save lives and protect the livelihoods of the American people. House Democrats fought to secure billions of dollars of resources for small businesses, including $310 billion to replenish the depleted Paycheck Protection Program, $75 billion in resources for our hospitals and healthcare workers on the frontlines, including Personal Protective Equipment, and $25 billion to expand access to coronavirus testing.

I know it is vital that you have the latest information on what our federal, state, and local governments are doing to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy. Therefore I have made some important changes to my Coronavirus Information page on my official website, which now includes three tabs on:

Resources – Features regularly updated information on COVID-19 disease FAQs, a list of testing sites in our area, stimulus checks, unemployment/re-employment benefits, resources for small businesses, school meal programs and more.

Legislative Responses – Highlights what you need to know about the three legislative packages Congress passed that have been signed into law in response to the coronavirus, and any upcoming relief packages that Congress is working on.·     What I Am Working On – Details the many ways my office is hard at work for South Florida and our nation during this trying time, including the specific issues I have addressed with leaders in Florida at the local and state level, as well as the White House and Executive Agencies at the federal level.

The safety of my constituents is of the utmost importance to me and my staff. I will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 and share relevant information to make sure you and your family are prepared. If you have any questions or concerns – from how to get your stimulus check to navigating your unemployment benefits – please do not hesitate to call my district offices in Tamarac at (954) 733-2800 or West Palm Beach at (561) 461-6767, as well as my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-1313.

Make sure you subscribe to my e-newsletter to receive the latest news from my office regarding the response to COVID-19. For more information on the various issues that I am working on, visit my official website at www.alceehastings.house.gov. With warm personal regards, I remain,

    Sincerely,

    Alcee L. Hastings

    Member of Congress

    20th District of Florida
