A Message from Sheriff Gregory Tony

Sheriff Gregory Tony

Since taking office, I have been committed to enhancing the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) to better protect and serve our community. Our six core initiatives, known as the BSO Pillars, have been instrumental in driving progress towards a more progressive, transparent, and efficient public safety organization.

I am proud to share our accomplishments:

– School Safety and Technology: Our Real-Time Crime Center has investigated over 5,600 incidents, leading to 117 arrests, and will soon expand to include additional staff, technology, and partner agencies.

– Serving the Broward Community: Our Park, Walk, and Talk program and Neighborhood Support Team have fostered strong community relationships, with over 38,000 community encounters and 100,000 public safety materials distributed.

– Training and Preparedness: Our new Research, Development, and Training Center will provide state-of-the-art facilities for training and preparedness, enhancing our response to critical incidents.

– Promoting from Within: We have promoted over 1,300 employees and expanded academic partnerships, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.

– Recruitment: Strategic recruitment efforts have filled over 2,000 positions, reducing vacancy rates and attracting top talent.

– Accountability and Transparency: Our Office of Inspector General ensures efficiency, economy, and responsibility, and our annual report provides transparency on tax dollar usage.

We remain dedicated to sustainable growth, excellence in service, and a purpose-driven approach to public safety. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely, Sheriff Gregory Tony
