FORT LAUDERDLAE, FL – In an effort to support another community activity on the calendar of events’ agenda for the 2013 Health Committee’s Program of Service, eight registered, the Zeta Rho Omega Chapter members known as the ZRQ-AKA Team participated as tagged-registrants in the Kids In Distress Hero 5K Run/Walk in 2013, from 5 – 8:30 p.m. with hundreds of energetic participants who also joined families, friends, agencies, and other companies at the Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Right after the 5K Race, hearty-healthy refreshments   were donated by Marcos Brazil Catering.

A rapper and singer’s concert was performed by Alex Star.  A series of photo ops with   Super-Heroes in decorative costumes were taken at the finish line and other food trucks set up their own food-delight stations. Zeta Rho Omega Chapter members donated to the cause and will continue to   join monthly events to make healthy-life styles work. One hundred per cent of the proceeds directly benefit the children and families served by Kids in Distress.

Please email directly to the Kids in Distress Contact Person (ryanbergschneider@kidinc.org) for the latest team status, or you may log on to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,   Zeta Rho Omega Chapter’s website for more information, at www.zetarhoomega.org.
