All 10 members of the Hallandale Beach Police Department SWAT team re-signed on Friday in response to their police chief kneeling in solidarity alongside protesters earlier last week, “calling the action “most shocking.” In a memo addressed to Police Chief Sonia Quinones, the SWAT team members complained they were “minimally equipped, under trained and restrained by the politicization of our tactics.” Also mentioned was family anguish political climate that leaves them defenseless. City Manager Greg Chavarria reported that even though the officers  stepped down from the SWAT team, they have not resigned from the police department. My concern is  why are they still on the force? If they openly disagree with a citizen’s right to protest of whom they are sworn to protect who is to say that they will carry out their duties  without prejudice. This photo is not necessarily of all  current members of Hallandale Beach Police Department SWAT team.
