    Angela Benton-one of America’s leading tech entrepreneurs-to speak at ICABA Business at breakfast

         WESTON, FL—Angela Benton, Founder and CEO of NewMe Accelerator will speak at ICABA Business at Breakfast, Sept. 27, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. at the offices of Greenberg Traurig, P.A.  Angela is the youngest Hall of Fame inductee of Minority Media and Tele-communications Council (MMTC) and has been honored by Goldman Sachs as one of the “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.” ”We are excited to have a national business leader of Angela’s stature share her knowledge and expertise with our network”, states Jerome Hutchinson, Jr., ICABA® president & CEO.

    Angela launched NewMe in 2011. NewME’s mission is to accelerate underrepresented entrepreneurs around the world.  NewME has received critical acclaim from The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Inc. Magazine, among others for the work they are doing to ensure that technology entrepreneurship is accessible to women and minorities.  Additionally, Angela and the inaugural class of NewME Accelerator were featured in CNN’s award winning documentary series Black in America: The New Promised Land: Silicon Valley in 2011.  Since its launch NewME has accelerated over 150 startups through their 12 week program in San Francisco and their national 3 day program in cities a-round the country.

    Angela has been recognized as a change agent and trailblazer by numerous publications and organizations including: Fast Company, Business Insider, Ebony Magazine, TheRoot, TheGrio, National Urban League, Black Enterprise Magazine, et al.

    Angela’s previous experience spans a variety of industries and roles.  She has worked at several InterActive Corp businesses including RealEstate.com,LendingTree.com, andRushmoreDrive.com.  In 2007 she launched Black- Web20.com, the leading online publication for African-Americans interested in Technology and New Media.  Throughout her career she has worked in a variety of roles in design, marketing, development, digital strategy and entrepreneurship.

    Angela graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications with a specialization in Digital Design. She has also completed postgraduate course-work in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
