    ArtServe Mental Health Exhibit Opening Reception Highlights Healing Benefits of Art

    It was a packed house at ArtServe’s April 21, 2023 opening reception for its new exhibit about mental health.  In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the reception featured a panel discussion of top local psychology professionals and a local artist.

    The exhibit, sponsored by MyPsychiatrist.com and Broward Health, is entitled “Fostering Mental and Emotional Health—An Artist’s Journey Through Healing” focuses on the healing benefits of art as a therapy tool.

    Youngest among the exhibiting artists was 16-year-old Emily Waller of Dr. Michael Krop Senior High School in North Miami Beach.

    Produced in part thanks to a grant from Broward Cultural Division and Culture Builds Florida, ArtServe’s mental health-themed art exhibit runs through Fri., June 16, 2023, and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. ArtServe is located at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
