MIAMI, FL  – The October 9th voter registration deadline here in Florida is quickly approaching, and with less than five weeks left it is important that we make sure that all of our voices are heard and that we get involved, register and vote.

From growing our economy, to providing more education scholarships, to signing the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama has demonstrated his strong commitment to Floridians and to the future of our communities. One of the best ways that Floridians can get involved to help re-elect the President is to register Floridians to vote in their own community or to visit www.GottaVote.org.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan believe in a top-down economic approach where the hardworking middle class and those striving to be in the middle class, who spend lifetimes’ worth of hardwork and responsibility, foot the bill for the tax breaks of America’s wealthiest. Tax average increases would cost families $2,000 a year over plans that are a flashback to the Bush-era where economic policies drove this country to the brink of another Great Depression. At a time when we must invest in our infrastructure and out innovate the world, Romney-Ryan would devastate Medicare by transforming into a voucher program and they would gut Pell Grant scholarships for 565,000 Floridian students. The Romney-Ryan policies do not represent the best interests for the people of Florida or the African American community.

The only way to prevent the go back Romney-Ryan team is by registering and voting. GottaVote.org is a website that makes registering to vote easier, and it is a resource that provides facts on voting, reminders for key dates and deadlines, and alerts on the status of voting rights in Florida. Every OFA-FL office gives Floridians the opportunity to register to vote. Below you will find a few of the many OFA-FL offices that will allow Florida voters to take their first steps in moving this country forward.
