AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) today sadly mourns the death of United States Representative John Lewis (D-GA), an icon in the civil rights movement. His family announced his passing in a statement Friday evening, noting Congressman Lewis was “…honored and respected as the conscience of the US Congress and an icon of American history, … a stalwart champion in the on-going struggle to demand respect for the dignity and worth of every human being.

With more than 25 years of experience in the film industry, Sandra Evers-Manly has made a lasting imprint on both the film-making community and the community at large. Her investment of time, talent, and money by developing and producing film projects, creating audience engagement, youth training in film and assisting both veteran and emerging filmmakers have made her an icon for sup-port and excellence.

     The NNPA is the global media partner for the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN), an advocacy and marketing partner of the United Nations, and we had an opportunity to interview an African American leader in motorsports, Chris Miles, Global Motorsport Marketing Advisor and Diversity & Inclusion Strategist for ARDN, as well as principal owner of Starting Grid, Inc., to get his opinion on the diversity initiatives happening now in the world of motorsports.

     A man who pointed a gun at police officers after repeated orders for him to move away from the weapon was shot and killed by officers in the City Heights section of San Diego, Calif., on the afternoon of July 9. He has been identified as Richard Lewis Price, 49.

     Those who in the name of resisting police violence on Black people are breaking windows, committing arson, throwing, or launching projectiles at police, shutting down freeways, and even occasionally looting, are helping Trump in battleground states.
