      In Augusta Georgia, a white judge allowing a white teenager to be released under their own recognizance (signature bond) after being charged with murder is an example of how justice is not blind when it comes to up-holding white privilege.

     “Multicultural communities are being hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic both financially and culturally,” said Beth McDonnell, U.S. Bank Chief Marketing Officer. “Our responsibility is to actively assist multicultural consumers and communities as they recover and rebuild their financial lives for the near and long term.      After a rancorous presidential campaign that exposed the depth of the political divisions in the United States, Americans streamed to the polls on Tuesday to choose either incumbent Donald Trump or challenger Joe Biden to lead a pandemic-battered nation for the next four years.

Legendary high school football coach Nathaniel “Traz” Powell was one of the great African American sports pioneers in Miami’s history. Born and raised in Miami’s Overtown section, Powell was a standout athlete at Booker T. Washington High School in the early 1940s. He went on to attend Florida A&M and was a 2-time Black College All American end. On December 6, 1947, Powell along with his Florida A&M teammates made history when they became the first black athletes to play in the Orange Bowl Stadium as part of the 1947 Orange Blossom Classic against Hampton Institute of Virginia. Powell scored the game’s only touchdown making him the first African American to score at the Orange Bowl.

     Dolphins have decided to start their young rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Miami drafted him from Alabama with their 5th overall pick in the first round. His first start was a little rocky starting off with a fumble on his first drive. After that fumble, Tua did not turn the ball over. The defense carried the team having an exceptional game and Jakeem Grant added a punt return for a touchdown. Miami managed to win 28 to 17. They now are currently in second place in the AFC East at 4-3

     This is what is certain: 100 years ago, on Nov. 2, 1920 – the same day women voted nationally for the first time – the worst instance of Election Day violence in American history unfolded in a small Florida town west of Orlando.

     Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Chair of the House Financial Services Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee, recently introduced a bill (H.R. 8595) to invalidate Executive Order 13950 and preserve diversity and inclusion training programs at federal departments and agencies as well as in the private sector.

Malik Sinegal, a 23-year old from Mississippi, has made history as the youngest African American to be certified as a Boeing 777 pilot in the world. He himself did not initially realize just how significant his accomplishment is!
