       Questions about what North Miami Democratic Rep. Dotie Joseph wants to do after reaching term limits in November now have an answer: She hopes to reside in the Governor’s Mansion.

       Early childhood education is one of the most important investments we can make in a child’s future. Research consistently shows that the first five years of life are critical for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. During these formative years, children build the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

       Matching energy isn’t about flipping personalities or losing yourself. It’s not about becoming loud just to be heard or hard just to be respected. It’s about that point where you stop shrinking to keep things comfortable for someone else. It’s the moment you realize that staying quiet is no longer keeping peace, it’s allowing disrespect to breathe.

In March 2005, I was elected as the First Mayor in the City of West Park, a municipality in Broward County, Florida. The city consists of the neighborhoods of Carver Ranches, Lake Forest, Miami Gardens, and Utopia which were previously unincorporated neighborhoods. Incorporation was ratified in 2004, after the Florida Legislature approved House Bill 1491, which provided for an election on November 2, 2004. Following a vote of 3,400 to 956 for incorporation, West Park was on its way to becoming Broward County’s 31st city.

     Everybody knew their next-door neighbor and those in the neighborhood. Locked doors weren’t the custom and snacks were always available for us. We felt loved and always welcomed. However, our parents did tell us not to wear out our welcome.

    Where do these principles stand as the 250th Birthday of the Declaration, July 4, 2026, approaches? A candid, honest assessment is not promising.

Planned upgrades focus on reducing outages, strengthening critical infrastructure and restoring service faster after severe weather.

       An organization called HBCU FC is working to change that during this season of World Cup action in America, Mexico and Canada. This spring, it held an inaugural “HBCU Football Club Classic” at Durham County Memorial Stadium, in Durham North Carolina.
