School board approves Superintendent Alex Marrero’s consolidation plan in effort to stave off budget crisis

A Trump spokesperson, Steven Cheung, said the incoming president has made it clear that ending DEI policies is a top priority and that Americans have voted to favor these changes. Vice President-elect JD Vance has also supported efforts to abolish federal DEI programs and repeal Biden-era protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

       Over the past three years, a rash of bans on best-practice medical care has swept the country. Now, more than three-quarters of transgender youth live in states that have introduced bans on their medical care, and more than one-third of trans youth live in states where these bans have been enacted. Civil rights lawyers have challenged these bans in more than a dozen lawsuits on behalf of trans youth and their families. Due to their litigation efforts and the support of the U.S. Department of Justice, trans youth will have their day in court on December 4, 2024, when the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments in United States v. Skrmetti. Skrmetti will make history as the first time that an openly transgender lawyer will argue before the Supreme Court.

       Ngumezi, a mother of two, suffered a miscarriage at 11 weeks on June 11, 2023 and experienced heavy bleeding.         The International Criminal Court’s recent issuance of arrest warrants to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza has stirred up a considerable backlash. Dismissing the charges as “absurd and false,” Netanyahu announced that Israel would “not recognize the validity” of the ICC’s action. U.S. President Joe Biden denounced the arrest warrants as “outrageous,” while the French government, after agreeing to support them, reversed its stance.
