The DST College & Career Fair at Boyd Anderson High School provided an excellent opportunity for the FAMU NAA Broward Chapter Scholarship and Recruitment Committee to end the year on a high note.

       Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is excited to announce that its FPL Robotics Scholarship for 2024 is once again officially open for applicants. Designed to empower young minds and cultivate the future leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), this scholarship aims to support one talented student who displays exceptional passion and potential in robotics.

     Created through grants from Funding Arts Broward, Broward County Cultural Division, Florida Arts & Culture, The Community Foundation of Broward and the WalMart Foundation, with sponsorship by BrightStar Credit Union and Florida Power & Light Company, Healing Through Art runs through Friday, June 15 and features artists who focus on mental wellness and healing, as well as those who create art despite physical or mental challenges.

The African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council (AATCLC), Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), and the National Medical Association (NMA), represented by Christopher Leung of Leung Law PLLC, have filed a second lawsuit against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the agency’s inaction on issuing a final rule banning menthol cigarettes. This lawsuit comes more than seven months after the FDA’s initial date for finalizing the new rule and follows the FDA’s 15-year delay in equitable policymaking.
