    Beverly Martin Lewis Succumbs

    Beverly Martin Lewis, affectionately known as Bep, was born to Richard Martin (deceased) and Reather Rogers Martin on October 14, 1955. Beverly was the second of the nine Martin children: Joseph “Stu” Martin (deceased); James “Red” Martin (deceased); Theresa Martin Elliott; Pamela Martin (Bobby McCall); Emanuel Martin, Richard Martin Jr. (Theresa); Warren Dexter Martin (deceased); and Darryl Martin (Terrell George).

    Accepting Jesus at an early age as a member of the Royal Assembly Church in Oakland Park, her Godmother was their pastor Mother Myrtle Francis. Beverly attended Woodson Elementary School, Ric-kards Middle School, and Northeast High School before graduating from Fort Lauderdale High in 1973 and attending Broward Community College.

    Beverly deeply cherished her family and her role as the family historian and record keeper. She was a proud member of the Harlan-McBride community, where she had many loving neighbors and friends. Beverly loved to eat, talk, and fellowship. She enjoyed connecting with people and collecting various memorabilia. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid, lifelong fan of the Miami Heat. Beverly was an active member of Plantation Baptist Church and the American Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club.

    In addition to her beloved mother and loving siblings, Beverly leaves behind nieces, nephews, special cousins Mae Francis Randall, Patricia Ann Williams, Naomi Dailey and host of family members who will cherish her memory.

    Services for Beverly Martin Lewis will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 3750 North State Road 7 Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. Family and Friends visitation at Friday 5 to 8 p.m., at Bell’s Funeral Home, 3750 North State Road 7 Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.

    Celebration of Life, Saturday at 12, at Plantation Baptist Church, 11700 N.W. 28 Ct., Plantation, Fla. Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3201 NW 19 St., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Repass at the Northwest Federated Woman’s, 2161 NW 19 St., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
