The 45th year reunion for the Boyd H. Anderson Class of 1978 (B.A.) was not only a fantastic event filled with excitement and so much love and joy, but it also unveiled a little-known celebrity amongst the Boyd H. Anderson Alum.

The main events took place on Friday and Saturday October 20-21 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, followed by an impromptu picnic at Oswald Park on Sunday.

Even though the event was being put on by the Class of 1978, other classes were invited since so many siblings attended B.A. together.

The B.A. 1978 Class reunion Fundraising Inc. leadership team consists of the following: Yvette Pressly-Ponder-President, Cheryl Thomas-VP, Sylvia Lane Strother-Secretary, Cynthia Stone-Co-Secretary, Joyce Powers-Treasurer, Juanita Jones-Co-Treasurer, Kathy Johnson-Chaplain, Glenda Oliver-Co Chaplain, Darryl Counts-Sergeant at Arms, Saadia Underwood-Co Sergeant at Arms, Harry Herrell-Business Consultant. All worked tirelessly to make the event a great success and unite the class.

The cookout was attended by Joel Gresham, a B.A. Graduate of the Class of 1976.

Joel is now a world-renowned fine artist and book publisher. His collection of work spans 42 years. I recall running into Joel at an event when I first moved to Atlanta 40 years ago and how delighted I was to run into someone from B.A. and Fort Lauderdale. From that point on I have followed his success and was delighted to run into him again at the impromptu reunion cookout. His works are in many public and private collections of such people like Oprah, Quincy Jones, Edwin Moses, Bernie Marcus, Ray Robinson, the late Paul Winfield, Marla Gibbs, Hank Aaron, James Worthy and the late Muhammad Ali.

We are proud to call Joel a B.A. Alum and excited that he has returned to Florida and opened a new Studio in the Palm Beach area.
