BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) announced today that it will host its 5th annual Broward and Beyond Business (BBB) Conference on May 1st at the Signature Grand in Davie. The conference theme this year is “We’re on the Move” highlighting Broward’s progress towards a world-class inter-modal transportation system and investments in the expansion of our convention center, seaport and airport which provide unprecedented opportunities for Broward’s business community. Register Early!

BBB provides a platform to discuss a variety of vital business topics to help entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals:

    • Maximize existing assets
    • Discover resources to increase growth potential
    • Explore opportunities throughout Broward County and beyond
    • Connect with industry colleagues, peers and potential clients
    • And much more!

“New” this year, the conference will feature a “Get Certified Lab,” a hands-on interactive one-on-one session led by an OESBD Small Business Development Supervisor who will walk attendees through the step-by-step process of completing a County Business Enterprise (CBE) / Small Business Enterprise (SBE) application for our local certification programs. Attendees must meet all the eligibility requirements and have all the required supporting documents to make an appointment for the lab.

“There is an estimated $150 million dollars’ worth of annual opportunities for our certified small businesses in Broward County,” said Sandy-Michael McDonald, Office of Economic and Small Business Development Director.” This year, in addition to getting more firms certified, we are all about Capacity Building to help our small businesses succeed, and more importantly, participate in the County’s procurement process. The addition of the “Get Certified Lab” and Capacity Building Expo to this year’s conference supports these efforts and I encourage attendees to take advantage of these real opportunities.”

The conference begins at 7:30 AM and registration is FREE. The conference will include Business Workshops and a live webcast of the Keynote Luncheon Speaker followed by afternoon sessions on the estimated $374 million per year Transportation Surtax opportunities and a Capacity Building Expo to grow your business.

Sponsor and exhibitor opportunities starting at $500 are now available. For more information, contact the Office of Economic and Small Business Development at 954-357-6400, OESBDConference@broward.org, or by visiting Broward.org/BizBeyond.
