    Broward County’s Pioneer Ceaniel Moore Ford demise at age 93

    The Homegoing Service for the late Mrs. Ceaniel Ford will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 1 p.m., at Historic Mount Hermon A.M.E. Church, 401 N.W. Seventh Terr, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Rev. Henry E. Green, pastor.

    A Christian woman of God, dedicated wife, loving mother, sister and aunt, Ceaniel Moore Ford was born April 2, 1920 in Estiffanulga, Fla. to Riley T. Moore and Saulada Harris Moore. Five siblings all preceded her in death.

    She relocated to Broward County in 1920. She was married to Jack Ford, July 26, 1943 and he preceded her in death. They had one daughter, Betty Ford McGhee of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She attended and graduated from Old Dillard High School, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

    An active member of Historic Mount Hermon African Methodist Episcopal Church, Sister Ford became a Disciple of Christ under the leadership of Rev. M. Chappelle in 1929 at the age of nine years old. During her formative years and adulthood she served as President of the Missionary Society, President of Choir #2, and served faithfully as steward and in the church school.

    Ford was a renowned licensed cosmetologist for over 50 years. A graduate of Apex Beauty College of Atlanta, Ga. She was employed at Pansy Beauty Hair Salon for about 30 years, after which she became an entrepreneur of her own business until retirement. Her customers and all who knew her recognized her highly for her giving to others and being of service in the community as a prospering business owner.

    She was a worthy Matron of the Madeline Woods Chapter #93 Chapter which began Dec. 6, 1973 of the Eastern Stars, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and an outstanding community servant.

    She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving daughter Betty Ford McGee, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. The wake will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, 5 p.m., until 8:30 a.m., at Mount Hermon A.M.E. Church.  Rev. Edrena Houston Brown will deliver the eulogy for the Homegoing Service.
