FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. –– Broward Health Foundation celebrated the dedication of the Boyce Haller Family Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Suite at Broward Health Medical Center with a ribbon cutting and sign reveal attended by Broward Health leadership, North Broward Hospital District Commissioners, Broward Health Foundation Board members, hospital executives, cardiologists and members of the Haller family.
The dedication recognizes the generosity of the Boyce Haller family and their commitment to advancing cardiovascular care at Broward Health Medical Center. The newly named suite encompasses the hospital’s cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology services, including a new 660-sq.-ft. laboratory equipped with advanced imaging technology.
The new lab features the Siemens Healthineers ARTIS icono.vision system, which provides enhanced imaging capabilities to help physicians perform cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures with greater precision. The technology is designed to support faster and more accurate procedures while significantly reducing radiation exposure for patients and clinical teams.

They are about giving our physicians the tools they need to provide exceptional care and giving our patients access to advanced cardiovascular services close to home,” said Shane Strum, president and CEO of Broward Health. “We are grateful to the Boyce Haller family for their extraordinary generosity and partnership with Broward Health. Their commitment is helping us strengthen cardiovascular care for the South Florida community.”
The new laboratory is part of Broward Health Medical Center’s continued investment in its cardiovascular service line. A $5.2 million gift from Linda Haller, announced at the Broward Health Foundation Ball, fully funded the cost of the suite upgrade and advanced technology.

The event also recognized Linda Haller and the Boyce Haller family for their longstanding support of Broward Health and commitment to strengthening health care in the community.
“This newly renovated cath lab brings advanced technology and expanded capabilities to our cardiovascular team,” said Jose L. Baez-Escudero, M.D., chief of cardiology and lead electrophysiologist at Broward Health. “For our patients, that means we can continue advancing the way we diagnose and treat complex heart conditions while providing care that is precise, efficient and focused on safety. We are deeply grateful to the Boyce Haller family for helping make this investment possible.”
With the addition of the new laboratory, Broward Health Medical Center now has two cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology suites, one dedicated electrophysiology suite and one hybrid operating room, further expanding its capabilities to diagnose and treat complex cardiovascular conditions.
Linda, a former Foundation board member, founded the Friends of Broward Health initiative, which has grown to more than 39 member families since it was inaugurated just over two years ago. Her generosity extends throughout the organization: she has hosted the employee appreciation ice cream social for the past three years, funded the “CEO Healthcare Champion” award, which she has presented for the last two years, and served as a longtime sponsor of the Broward Health Ball.
The Boyce Haller Family Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Suite reflects Broward Health’s continued investment in advanced cardiovascular services and technology to meet the needs of patients throughout Broward County and South Florida.
