Catch A Love Like This, April 22nd-25th at the Broward Center

When was the last time you attended a play? For many, especially those of us leery of attending in-person events, it’s been a while…

Thankfully, due to the innovation of Art Prevails Project (APP) in partnership with New City Players, A Love Like This offers South Floridians and those willing to travel, a unique COVID-safe opportunity to experience theatre and explorations of Black love in the outdoor Peck Courtyard of the Broward Center of the Performing Arts.

A Love Like This features 6 short plays of familial love, platonic, and romance along with some of their accompanying trials and tribulations. Each piece is scribed and performed by Black writers including APP founder Darius Daughtry, infused with soul tunes by local band, Purple Flux and spoken word narrations by Nyah Hardmon and Marnino Toussaint — members of the APP team.

The open-air production offers the feel-good energy we’re lacking nowadays.

The cast includes Dillard High alumna and recording artist Sheena O. Murray as well as Maggie B. Maxwell, Stephon Duncan, JaShae Jones, Byron Holton, Ayomi Russell, and Kent Wilson.

Tickets can be purchased in pairs or sets of 4. Click here to learn more: https://bit.ly/3emslNf

Art Prevails Project is a multidisciplinary collective of mainly Black creatives.
