     Eva attended Holy Cross and Blackshear Elementary Schools, Anderson High School, graduated from Prairie View A & M University College, with a B.A degree in clothing and textiles, and a Master’s Degree in Education.

     Justin J. Pearson and Justin Jones, both well known for being part of the Tennessee Three and being representatives in the Tennessee State Assembly, will be the keynote speaker and special guest respectively at the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida’s 41st Conference June 7 through 9, 2024 at the Rosen Centre Hotel, 9840 International Drive, Orlando, Florida.

     “We paid off the mortgage!”, Brother Clarence Grisham, longtime member of First Baptist Church Piney Grove, announced to the congregation on April 7th during Sunday Morning Service. First Baptist Church Piney Grove, a cornerstone of the Fort Lauderdale/Lauderdale Lakes community for 120 years, is thrilled to announce a momentous occasion – the burning of the mortgage on their historic property. This celebration marks the culmination of months of dedication and stewardship by the congregation.

     Ms. Briana Whatley, a junior from Miramar High School,  won the 2024 Incubate Debate National Championship, claiming first place and a $10,000 prize. The competition was held in Jacksonville, Florida  on April 5 – 6, 2024. Briana debated against 88 other  high caliber students from across the nation. Incubate National Championship is provided by Incubate partner Open to Debate, the nation’s only nonpartisan, debate-driven media organization dedicated to bringing multiple viewpoints together for a respectful exchange of ideas.

     There was unanimous support for the need to rekindle the Spirit evident in our documentary “Soldiers Without Swords,” to report the news “without fear or favor” and use the pages of our newspapers to “Light the Road to Freedom.” We cannot afford – literally – to fail heeding Frederick Douglass’ admonition that “Power concedes NOTHING without a DEMAND!”

      The United Auto Workers has filed a complaint with the NLRB of illegal company captive employee meetings and firing of workers who are advocating for unionization. Spokesman for Mercedes denies those allegations. This union battle follows a massive win of workers at the Tennessee Volkswagen plant, another German auto giant in which workers chose the United Auto Workers by a landslide. In Alabama, the main issue is pay and use of “temp workers.”  A company spokesperson would not comment on pay structure.

The American Israel Education Foundation (“AIEF”) is the charitable organization affiliated with AIPAC, America’s pro-Israel lobby, created in 1988. As a member of an African American leaders group selected to participate in one of their annual educational programs.
