     Now that Bernie is going into the retirement arena, he has made it clear that he’s only moving from one chapter to a new chapter of his life. He plans to do more ministry work, enjoy more time with his grandchildren, volunteer and provide consultation as needed. Bernie will be missed but will always be remembered for the work he has done and the many lives he has touched.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed four bills passed during a special legislative session last week, including measures to provide hurricane relief, bolster security at Jewish day schools and expand school vouchers.

The Town of Lake Park is proud to announce the unveiling of new playground equipment in West Ilex Park, one of the town’s popular “pocket parks.” The event was celebrated on Tuesday, November 7, by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by many of the people the playground is designed to serve: Lake Park children between the ages of 5 and 12.

     The Principles of Sociology class, which still would be available to students, would no longer count toward fulfilling required social-science coursework. The class involves lessons on gender, sex and sexuality and race and ethnicity, according to a syllabus from one university.

       Glades Lives Matter kicked off its inaugural ambassadorship program with a Pinning Ceremony, inducting high school seniors from five different Glades schools. These students received support from their families, pastors, principals, and school counselors. We’re excited about the year ahead as we mentor and develop these students in local and state government, local industry, and community engagement. Congratulations to all!
