Inmates released because of COVID face returning to prison

     Kendrick Fulton, 48, is one of about 24,000 federal inmates who have been permitted to serve their sentences outside prison walls after being granted release on home confinement amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The African American Policy Forum Is Teaching A 5-Day Course On Critical Race Theory

     The African American Policy Forum is scheduled to host a five-day course on Critical Race Theory that will feature a number of critical race experts from law, policy, and community organizing backgrounds who will present a foray of different ideas on the topic. The program aims to open up a constructive dialogue on how the movement can help shape a more multi-cultural democracy within the United States social jus-tice system. New Legislation Aims to Revitalize America’s Downtowns

     Stabenow, along with Reps. Gary Peters (D–Mich.), Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.), Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), and John Larson (D-Conn.) introduced the Revitalizing Downtowns Act. Al Sharpton, Dr. Martin Luther King III, and Arndrea Waters King, the civil rights leaders behind the March On For Voting Rights, hosted a press conference with Democratic members of the Texas legislature at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. The civil rights leaders were in Washington to urge members of Congress to pass federal voting rights legislation as states introduce laws that restrict access to the ballot box. The visit with Texas state legislatures today took place ahead of planned testimony on Thursday before the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties subcommittee hearing.  […]
