     WNBA players do not make as much money as NBA players, and they often go overseas to play in the offseason.  Players in the Russian league can earn exponentially more money than here in the U.S.  Griner was one of the most dominant women players in the world and was a welcomed international star.

     Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University have joined forces with the nonprofit New Leaders—an organization dedicated to equity in education—for the creation of an initiative centered on training, hiring and retaining more principals of color. The effort—dubbed the Aspiring Principal Fellowship—merges a master’s degree program with an online principal certification.

     According to University President Dr. William R. Harvey, 50 to 100 students who are currently exposed to the dangers in Ukraine will be able to attend Hampton free of charge. The announcement came as the student debt crisis has disproportionately affected Black college students, including and especially those attending HBCUs.

     These HBCUs can also impact students financially by lifting them from a lower tax bracket into higher ones and helping them financially establish themselves in the real world. OnlineU did a study comparing median earnings of HBCU graduates to other Black graduates in their respective states. The site compared each alumni median earnings to the HBCU’s state salary threshold, which is the median salary for Black graduates in the state with the same level of education.

Biden-Harris Administration Addresses Inequity in Black Home Appraisals

     Described as “one of the best kept secrets in Washington DC” by an international civil rights activist, rumors have swirled to that effect for years; is it time to address those rumors once & for all?

     The nonprofit Coalition for Homeless reported that about 57 percent of heads of households in shelters are Black, 32 percent are Hispanic/Latinx, 7 percent are white, less than 1 percent are Asian-American or Native American, and 4 percent are of unknown race/ethnicity.

So, it’s little wonder that following a late-night break-in at the Oakland Post on Wednesday, March 23, Cobb remained firm in his resolve.

     Black women are charting historic paths in spaces where they are significantly underrepresented. Amongst this generation of trailblazers is Aliyah Griffith, who recently became the first Black student to earn a graduate degree in marine sciences from the University of North Carolina, the Daily Tar Heel reported.

     While there has been much discussion about the historic nature of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson‘s nomination, the importance of her nomination to Black law students cannot be stated enough. ABC News reported that over 100 Black law students from 17 schools went to Washington D.C. to show support for Jackson.
