There are some issues that are so complex that experts are needed to find the safest way forward. One of these is nuclear weapons policy. But we are a democracy, where the peoples’ will prevails. Our country has never had a national discussion in real depth about nuclear issues. It is time to begin one.

Trump as America’s 45th president won this election despite having revealed compromised integrity, immorality, and explicit racism. Regardless of his character flaws, Trump realized that just as in business there are millions of voters available for exploitation and gullible enough to fulfill his selfish ambitions. Thus, began Trump’s consummate role as America’s presidential political pimp.
But how does one understand the oral arguments concerning Trump’s claim of total immunity from prosecution? At its core, this case is about a president being above the law and having the absolute immunity of a king. The justices are fellow Americans who, we would hope, value our basic principles, in particular that here the law is king and not the other way around.

That our springtime is not silent today is thanks to one of the original victories of the modern environmental movement – and the book that many credit for starting that movement. It is a story of hope. One that should inspire faith in those of us who care deeply about stopping the climate crisis and saving our planet.
In recent talks between US and Chinese leaders, they have found common ground in support for more people-to-people exchanges, particularly in education. Presidents Biden and Xi both mentioned the importance of these exchanges at their last summit meeting, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during his April trip to China, gave a talk to American students there on how critical study in China is for cross-cultural understanding and prevention of misperceptions between governments. But the positive rhetoric is being overtaken by political realities.

America finds itself involved in not one but three disastrous dilemmas simultaneously. The war in Ukraine, followed by the war involving Israel are deadly, costly, and unfortunately reek with elements of war crimes. Yet of the three dilemmas, the battle to save America’s democracy from former president Trump, and the Republican Party constitute the greatest dilemma.
History repeats itself. Historically, major political parties spend 97% of campaign expenditures with people who are non-Black. Black media owners are “inferior” and so are, Black printers, Black caterers, Black pollsters, Black fundraisers, Black videographers, Black photographers, Black copywriters, Black direct-mailers, and other professionals.
