Well, guess what? Black politicos did register millions of votes but around 50% of new registered voters in some states didn’t even go to the polls. They didn’t go to the polls because “vote for the Black” was not enough motivation or inspiration for conscious Blacks to blindly vote for any candidate, of any political party, and for candidates of any race or ethnic identity.

Nearly nine decades ago, former President Franklin D. Roosevelt uttered these famous words, “The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself.” Now, it’s not just fear, but rather it’s fear of a “Mad Man,” Putin. Consequently  America and its NATO Alliances are held hostage by Putin threats to NUKE Ukraine; thus, also  causing  fear of the inevitable, World War III.

The Broward County criminal justice system has taken a giant step forward on monetary bond reform. The newly issued Uniform Bond Schedule, which takes effect March 1, 2022, aims to balance the need to protect the public from dangerous crimes with the need to re-duce overcrowding in our jails.    Republicans and their base of white supremacist have focused their homophobic attacks on society’s most vulnerable, our children. Unfortunately, their demonic logic suggests that if there’s no mention made of the word “gay” they somehow merely become invisible and develop as heterosexuals.

I will post one or two words every Sunday on my Facebook page (James Hankins). The two words for today are visionary and fruition. A person who can imagine or look into the future is called a visionary. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King is a great example of a visionary with his “I Have a Dream Speech” at the Washington Monument in 1963. Dr. King said, “We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and hotels of the cities.”

Admittedly, I am a work in progress and will be that way for as long as I continue to inhale and exhale. Since I have no idea when those actions will cease, I just keep on keeping on — living and learning with the understanding that when you know better, you do better.
