The founder of a former megachurch in Oklahoma who was branded a heretic and lost one audience — but gained a new one — after he rejected the idea of hell and supported gay rights has died, his agent said Monday.

Famed artist Radcliffe Bailey who made Atlanta his home has died. Bailey who received international acclaim for his remarkably impressive and prodigious body of work, which includes a mammoth mural at the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta Hartsfield, welcoming visitors and giving them a glimpse of the cultural treasures in the Capital of the South passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Last week, the Pasadena community lost a towering symbol of leadership and courage, Joe C. Hopkins. A lawyer, activist, publisher, husband and father, Hopkins passed away on Oct. 31 after decades of dedicated service to the community.
The Rev. Frank Dukes, an influential Birmingham Civil Rights Movement leader and President of Miles College’s trailblazing student body in the early 1960’s, has died. He was 92.
“Bertie Bowman was a trailblazing South Carolinian and the longest-serving Black staffer on Capitol Hill. His dedication to public service is an inspiration to us all. May he Rest in Power,” wrote Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn in tribute.
James Robert Williams, born in 1951 in Midville, Georgia, moved to Fort Lauderdale to improve his life. Despite facing pneumonia and asthma, he started school at 8 and attended Sunland Park Elementary School and William Dandy Middle School. He graduated from Dillard High in 1971, and his achievements are significant.
