To support student-athletes at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN) announced today that it will be the title sponsor of the Black College World Series (BCWS) in each of the next three years.

The event will include an initial day of a pro-am, a trip to PGA TOUR Superstore to help the players with equipment and other needs, seminars, and other development opportunities all with key partners and industry leaders.

     Rory McIlroy, the No. 7 ranked player in the world, and other top players, including Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau, have announced their commitment to participating in next month’s Wells Fargo Championship as the PGA Tour returns to the Washington, D.C., area.

     Evans Chebet of Kenya broke away from a crowded pack in the men’s field to win the race, which he did not finish in 2018. Chebet turned onto Boylston Street with a steady lead as the crowd cheered him to the finish. 

     For tennis superstar Serena Williams, giving birth to her baby, it turned out, was a test for how loud and how often she would have to call out before finally being heard.

     For four days, I can’t recall seeing Covid 19 numbers.  For four days I didn’t hear much about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  For four days I didn’t hear about politics, crime or any of the usual headline-grabbing anomalies.  All the talk for that time was about Tiger Woods and his much-anticipated return to the Augusta National Golf Course to play in the PGA Tour’s first major, The Masters.

      If you didn’t look around, you might not have noticed that Bragg Memorial Stadium, home of FAMU football, is under phase two of its renovation. That’s because the buzz brought about for Pro Day drowned out the drills, saws and welding equipment. An empty West side of the stadium created shadows on the field as the construction company prepares the brand-new bleachers for the 2022 season.
