It will be an NBA All-Star Weekend like no other. In fact, it won’t even be a weekend. Due to the ongoing pandemic and health and safety protocols and “for the well-being and safety of the greater Atlanta community,” NBA All-Star 2021 will be a one-night event – for the first time ever – with the absence of fans, NBA sponsored ticketed events, parties or social functions

After Sunday’s loss to Buffalo, the Dolphins are now officially eliminated from the playoffs. Even with the loss there was still a chance for Miami to make the playoffs. Either the Browns, Colts, or Ravens had to lose; unfortunately, all three teams won. Even though they are eliminated from the playoffs, Miami had a better year this year finishing at 10-6 after finishing 5-11 last year.

Saturday was a wildly exciting and thrilling game between the Dolphins and the Raiders which the Dolphins ended up winning 26 to 25. With the victory, the Dolphins moved to 10-5 which keeps them in the seventh playoff spot. However, there is one game left this season. To secure their spot in the playoffs, the Dolphins must win next Sunday at Buffalo. Head Coach Brian Flores offers his thoughts on Miami’s win, “Obviously, everyone was really excited playing a game like that. A meaningful game for us and them. Look, there’s ups and downs and ebbs and flows within the game.

With Sunday’s 22 to 12 win Miami now is 9-5 on the season, still clinging to the number 7 spot in the playoffs. The race to acquire the wildcard spot is on, and there are now two games left this season. Although the Patriots no longer have the stranglehold on the AFC East as they have for the last 19 years, this was still a tough rivalry game. With Sunday’s loss the Patriots are now eliminated from playoff contention,  the first time they’ve missed the playoffs since 2008.

The Dolphins were involved in an intense battle Sunday and nearly came away with the victory against the defending Super Bowl champions. The Chiefs won 33 to 27, but it was not an easy win. Miami’s defense played a good game yesterday, getting pressure on Mahomes, sacking him 3 times, and getting 3 interceptions off him. It was an incredible feat to hang in with such a good team. In the third quarter, the  Chiefs built a 30 to 10 lead and it looked like it was going to be a blowout, but Miami was able stay focused and mount up points to cut into the lead.

With Sundays win the Dolphins are currently at 8-4, sitting in the 6th spot in the playoffs. With four games left this season, the remaining games are all critical. Sunday’s win came against the Cincinnati Bengals who is currently out of the playoff race.
