    Ceremony held in memory of Katrina McCollum Bell announces its recipients

         The St. Christopher Episcopal Endowment Board announces their award recipients at a scholarship award ceremony held June 9, 2013 in memory of Katrina McCollum Bell (Katrina McCollum Bell Memorial Scholarship – KMB) honoring her Christian service to God through music and education. During the ceremony Rodney Baltimore announced the 2013 Katrina McCollum Bell Memorial Scholarship recipients; Reginald J. Goosby, II, Maila Superville, and Shedric McGauley, Jr.

        Reginald Goosby, II, the $3000.00 scholarship recipient, is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School. He is a well-rounded, talented young man whose activities include four years Team Captain of the Cardinal Gibbions High School Basketball Team, Cardinal Gibbons Community Service Award (Gold Chord), member of the Cardinal Gibbons Young Democrats Club, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Lamplighters Mentoring Club, member of the Boys and Girls Club undefeated champion basketball team, and a member of the Boys and Girls Club Torch and Keystone Clubs. He plans to attend Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania in the fall.

    Maila Superville, the $2000.00 scholarship recipient, has an exceptional creative talent which was demonstrated through an original poem that she wrote and recited during the Awards Ceremony. She is a member of the St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church Dance Team, a member of St. Benedict’s Jr. Daughters of the King, and she has clocked in hundreds of community service hours. She plans to attend the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida in the fall.

    Shedric McGauley, Jr., the $1000.00 recipient, is a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, and is a licensed Youth Minister and Sunday School Superintendent at the Miracle Baptize Holiness Church.  Besides having an exceptional grade point average, he was a member of the Fort Lauderdale High School Marching Band, member of the Drug Free Youth in Town (DFYIT), and an Advocate Volunteer for the K. C. Wright Leadership Academy. He plans to attend Florida International University, in Miami, Fla. in the fall.
