    Chi Psi Omega Chapter participates to end domestic violence

    Chi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, members were among 1200 community participants and organizations on Oct. 26, 2013, participating in the 15th Annual Safe-walk presented by Polo Tropical.

    This 5K 2013 run/walk organized by Broward County Women-In-Distress to end domestic violence against women took place at Butterfly World-Trade Winds Park, Coconut, Creek.

    The chapter exceeded its goal and raised $1,025 for the worthy cause. Proceeds from the funds raised provide needed nights of shelter, hours of children respite, counseling and therapy sessions as well as crisis line calls.

    Team members participating in the three-mile walk included Barbara J. Thomas; president, Josetta B. Patterson; connection chairman, Luwando Wright-Hines, Veronica Phillips, Malikh Williams, Michelle Green, Alana DaSent and Sherri Cooper. Volunteers participating included Camille Hines, EYL Girl (Emerging Young Leader) and David Hines.
